I-77: The Charlotte-Miami Interstate
  I-77: The Charlotte-Miami Interstate | The Carolinas | Georgia | Florida

Welcome!

This is a proposal to extend Interstate 77 from Columbia, SC to Miami, FL.  In effect, this would create a direct interstate link between Charlotte, NC and Miami.

Corridor Details

From Columbia, I-77 would follow the US 321 and US 301 corridors to Jesup, GA.  It would then turn southwestward to Waycross and Valdosta along US 84 before joining I-75 to Florida.  Finally, I-77 would split at Wildwood, FL, using the Florida Turnpike to get to Miami. More information can be found on the individual pages by clicking the links at the top.

This would create a north-south interstate running through Orlando, and relieve congestion on I-75 and I-95.

In addition, the I-77 corridor would eliminate the need to go through Atlanta or having to take I-26 to I-95 in order to get to Florida.  This would be a great relief for motorists in Charlotte and points north.
